Miss Jenna (Inspire Dance Studio Director)

Miss Jenna started dance at the young age of 3 and baton twirling at the age of 4 in Red Deer, Alberta. She trained until she was 14 at Dancentral studio under the instruction of Judy Dorland and moved to Danscott studio in Calgary when she was 15 to pursue her passion for dance further under the instruction of Gail Scott.  She was trained under the ADAPT jazz and tap syllabus and under the RAD ballet syllabus. She completed her Jazz ADAPT exams and her Grade 7 R.A.D. ballet exam. She has danced internationally and attended numerous workshops throughout Canada and the U.S.  During this time Miss Jenna was heavily involved in the baton twirling world under the instruction of Loren Dermody. She was a 7 time national freestyle champion and attended the world baton twirling championships a total of 9 times as an individual, pair and team athlete competing in numerous parts of the world including Japan, Europe, Australia and the U.S. Her greatest accomplishments at worlds, including several top 6 finishes in all events, include winning the bronze medal in the pair division in 2007 and placing 4th in freestyle that same year. After the completion of high school Miss Jenna moved to Australia where she taught baton twirling and dance before she started and completed her degree in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. During her schooling she began instructing for Danscott studio and Baton and Dance Co. based out of Calgary where she has been a permanent staff member for 6 seasons. She has completed many certification programs including her ADAPT jazz and tap teacher training in Toronto, ON, her acrobatique acro-dance certification, NCCP coaching courses and her certification for judging and coaching through the Canadian Baton Twirling Federation and World Baton Twirling Federation. Miss Jenna is currently an international judge and coach in the sport of baton twirling. She decided to open Inspire Dance Studio in September 2014 as a way of giving back to the sport of baton twirling, dance and the community of Olds.
